Red Island Fibres

Mandy Moore is the fibre artist behind Red Island Fibre, a small independent dye studio based in Charlottetown, PEI. Her love of fibre arts began in childhood, learning to quilt alongside her grandmother and later hand-quilting with her for many years.

After a serious accident in 2009 left her unable to continue quilting comfortably, Mandy was encouraged to try knitting. She quickly fell in love with the craft, beginning her knitting journey in 2017 and learning to spin in 2018. In 2019 she launched Red Island Fibre, creating vibrant hand-dyed yarns inspired by the colours and landscapes of Prince Edward Island.

Her fibre journey eventually went even deeper—today Mandy also raises English Angora rabbits, producing luxurious fibre and connecting the craft from animal to yarn to finished project.

Through Red Island Fibre, Mandy shares her passion for colour, texture, and traditional fibre arts with fellow makers.
