Upcoming Sessions

Service Description

Knitting with beads is a beautiful and versatile practice that can add intricate details to any piece of knitted work. Beads add colour, sparkle and texture to a knitted garment. By learning the differing methods, we will explore how to incorporate beads into your knitting projects. From choosing the right materials to understanding different methods of adding beads, we explore multiple aspects of this technique and discuss embellishment techniques. Plus tips for altering patterns to add beadwork! Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills. No experience in knitting with beads needed. Working simple increases and decreases an asset but not necessary. You will have to cast on and do some knitting in advance to prepare. Participants supply their own yarn and knitting needles. Suggest fingering weight yarn (a mini skein or leftover sock yarn is fine, 20g suggested in semi solid colour) and 3 to 3.5 mm needles. Recommend bringing a small dish to keep beads contained.   Provided: A selection of bead colours and sizes to choose from for each participant. Work charts. Tools for the two base methods.
