Spin Your Own Yarn

When: Friday, April 10, 3-5 pm,

Materials: Fibre will be provided. You will have use of a drop spindle for the class. Available for purchase from Close Knit Friends booth after the class

Skills learned:

• Identify parts of a drop spindle and their functions

• Add twist to fiber using effective “park and draft” technique

• Stand and spin as you feel more comfortable

• Use the “ply back “ technique to measure twist in your yarn

• Remove yarn from the spindle and create a skein

• Troubleshoot and avoid common pitfalls
