Introduction to Spinning (Drop Spindle)

• Identify parts of a drop spindle and their functions

• Add twist to fiber using the effective "park and draft" technique

• Stand and spin as you feel more comfortable 

• Use the "ply back" technique to measure twist in your yarn

• Remove yarn from the spindle and create a skein

• Troubleshoot and avoid common pitfalls 

Floof (fibre) will be provided. Participants must have a drop spindle, available at Close Knit Friends Booth or Moosehill Woodworks Booth.
